Can we provide our own entertainment?

Yes you can at no additional cost – but you must provide your own pa system, lights and extension leads. Please note that if you organise your own entertainment, please advise the disco and/or band that they are not permitted to bring smoke or fog machines on board as they do set off the fire alarms. Also the entertainment providers have a responsibility to ensure all equipment they bring aboard the vessel is intrinsically safe and well maintained.

When does the entertainment need to finish?

All entertainment must finish prompt at the end of the cruise.

What type of power is available on the ferry?

The power on the vessel is 240AC (Alternating Current)

Can we provide our own catering?

Yes. However, there isn’t a kitchen area or facilities for hot food on the ferry. Everything must be bought onboard as if it’s an outside catering event. The organiser or caterer must look after the catering and clear it away after the event.

Can we have access to the Ferry before the event?

If you hire the ferry from 8.30pm then you can have access to the ferry from 7.15pm over at Seacombe Ferry Terminal, Wallasey, Wirral. If you are hiring the ferry before 8.30pm then you will get an hour to set-up before the event. Set-up for all catering and entertainment is from Seacombe as it is the only accessible point to the ferry for vehicles. You may drive vehicles right down to the landing stage, giving easy access. Vehicles may be left on the landing stage until after the event to de-rig.

What time can we board the ferry?

Boarding time is the time stated on the charter hire agreement form.

How many people does the ferry hold?

It all depends on the type of event? If you are having entertainment and catering then we recommend 250 guests. If your just having entertainment and a disco then we would recommend 300 guests. If you’re just having a dj then the maximum numbers are 370 guests.

What’s the Smoking Policy?

Smoking is not allowed inside the saloons. Smoking is only allowed on the outside decks.

What drinks are available from the bars?

Bottle beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks are available. However plastic glasses will be used unless otherwise stated.

Can we bring our own Alcohol onboard?

It is not permitted for passengers or organisers to bring their own alcohol onboard. We reserve the right to confiscate any alcohol not purchased on the vessel and not returned.

What time does the bar close?

The bar will close 15mins before the end of the cruise.

I’m 21 do I require any I.D?

Mersey Ferries have very strict licensing laws and anyone who appears to be look under the age of 21 years will be asked for ID. The only ID acceptable is a photo card including a full Driving Licence, Passport, citzenxcard, Connexioncard, Portman pass, validate UK. If ID is not available then we cannot serve you alcohol.

Can we get married on the boat?

Unfortunately we have not been able to get a license for weddings due to the fact the we have the capability of ‘sailing away’ during the ‘Known Impediments’ part of the ceremony. You can, however, organise an on-board blessing to take place after you are married. Our professional team of staff will do everything and more to make the day special.

Can we decorate the ferry?

Yes you are allowed to decorate the vessel in the set up time given as long as the vessel is left clean and tidy after the event. Please note that no candles (naked flames), confetti, glitter balls are not allowed.

Can the ferry stop off during the event?

It is necessary on some evening charters to have a crew change this is a 5-10 minute operation, which takes place at Seacombe at 9pm. If for some reason a passenger needs to get off the ferry then the captain and crew will try there utmost to accommodate the request as soon as possible.

Can we extend the cruise time on the night?

No. Any changes to the cruise time must be confirmed no later than 2 weeks before the event.

How do we confirm a date?

A date in the diary can be held provisionally for 14 working days after which the date needs to be confirmed with a deposit or it will automatically be cancelled / released. A charter hire agreement form will be sent out to you and this needs to be signed ad returned back to us with the deposit. The deposit is 1/3 rd of the charter hire and the final balance of the event is to be paid no later than 2 weeks before the event.

What payment do you accept?

We except credit or debit cards over the phone, cheques can be sent through the post or handed into one of our terminals at Liverpool Pier Head, Seacombe or Woodside. Cash can also be paid in by person at any of the 3 terminals

What route does the ferry take?

The ferry takes a leisurely cruise up and down the River Mersey

Can the ferry go out to the Mouth of the River?

It all depends on the tides and the weather on the day. The ferry has to get back to the normal route before sunset.

Can we organise an event at Salford Quays, Manchester?

Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate events at Salford Quays.
