how long does the cruise last?
The cruise is six hours. If you have chosen a cruise with a stopover, you will have 2.5 hours (1.5 hours on a Sunday) on arrival and then a return bus trip of approximately one hour.
Can I buy food onboard?
Our on board cafe sells a range of snacks and sandwiches onboard but you are more than welcome to bring your own packed lunches or picnic. There is also a full range of hot and cold drinks to buy as well as a fully licensed bar aboard. Due to licensing restrictions, you cannot bring your own alcohol onboard.
Can I bring a dog?
Due to the duration of the cruise, dogs cannot be carried on the Manchester Ship Canal cruises. We do of course, accept assistance dogs.
Is smoking permitted?
All Mersey Ferries, premises, including vessels are designated as no smoking areas. Smoking is not permitted on the vessel at any time. This also includes electronic cigarettes.
How much are children's tickets?
Children under the age of 2 are free of charge but still need to have an infant ticket so please make sure you let us know at the time of booking.
Is the cruise suitable for children?
Please remember that the day is likely to be around 9.5 hours in duration and the cruises do not have any children’s activities.
What are the arrangements for seating?
We offer free seating on board, we are unable to reserve seats and seats are on a first come first served basis.
Where can I park?
We offer free parking at Seacombe, parking is available at Q Park in Liverpool which is close to the Pier Head Ferry Terminal (check website for charges) and at the Lowry Outlet multi-storey car park in Salford Quays (check website for charges). Customers parking at the Lowry can park for 6-12 hours at the discounted price of £10 by showing their Ferry ticket at the car park office.
Are the vessels accessible?
All Mersey Ferries vessels are fully accessible, however we do need to know about passengers using wheelchairs to ensure we have suitable low-loader buses ordered for the return journey. Click here for more details.
How do we get back?
Return coach transfers will be operated by Swan Travel and are included in the ticket price.
Can I get a refund?
There are no refunds available on Manchester Ship Canal Cruise tickets.
Can I change my ticket for another date?
Tickets can be exchanged for a cruise on an alternative date up to 14 days before the date of the cruise (subject to availability). An administration fee of £5 per person will be charged. Please call 0151 330 1444 to arrange a ticket exchange.
What do I do if I've lost my ticket?
Sorry lost tickets or gift vouchers cannot be replaced.
How long are gift vouchers valid for?
Gift vouchers for Manchester Ship Canal Cruises must be used within 2 years of purchase.
What happens if the cruise I am booked on gets cancelled?
We will exchange your tickets for a cruise on an alternative date.
