Mersey Ferries fascinating Manchester Ship Canal Cruise is a truly memorable journey along the 35-mile stretch of canal. It includes a lively commentary giving a revealing insight into the facts, the history and the dramas of one of Britain’s major waterways. The cruises take in spectacular scenery leaving its passengers with an awe-inspiring sense of how its construction shaped the city of Manchester and the North West of England.
This six-hour cruise departs from both Seacombe, Wirral and Pier Head, Liverpool and from Salford Quays, Manchester on selected dates from April to September 2010. Many of the cruises include a stop-over in Liverpool or Salford Quays for you to visit The Lowry, Imperial War Museum, Lowry Outlet Mall or Albert Dock and central Liverpool attractions, before our buses collect and return you to your starting point. On stopover cruises from Manchester to Liverpool, there is a new option to visit U-Boat Story at Woodside Terminal, Birkenhead. This new exhibition tells the amazing story of the German World War II submarine U-534, which is located at the terminal. At the end of your visit our scheduled ferry service will take you to Liverpool for the return bus transfer. The cruise costs £36 for adults and £34 for seniors*/children and includes return bus transfer to take you back to your starting point at the end of the cruise. If you wish to include a visit to U-Boat Story the adult ticket is £40.00 and senior ticket is £38.00. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
Our refurbished vessels provide excellent facilities including a licensed bar and servery selling refreshments and snacks throughout the cruise.
