The River Explorer Cruise brings any educational visit
to the Liverpool or Wirral waterfront to life. River Explorer
Cruises operate hourly from Pier Head [Liverpool], Seacombe
[Wallasey] and Woodside [Birkenhead]. Your group can start
their journey at any of our three terminals and Return
Tickets allow you to break your journey and rejoin the
cruise later in the day. See our River
Explorer Cruise timetable and ticket
prices for further details.
The River Explorer
Cruise offers students the best views
of the historic Mersey waterfront and a lively and informative
commentary, including the fascinating history of the ferry
service, which began when Edward III granted the Benedictine
Monks a Royal Charter in 1330. Students will learn how
the ferry service has developed with the growth of the
maritime industry and the world-famous Port of Liverpool.
Combine the River Explorer Cruise with a visit to Spaceport, Customs & Excise Museum [Liverpool],
Maritime Museum [Liverpool], Birkenhead Priory [Woodside]
or St Mary’s Tower [Woodside].

6 children’s tickets [also available on Joint River
