18 – 21 JULY 2008 – THE TALL SHIPS’ RACES
Liverpool is the host port for the start of the Tall Ships’ Races 2008. The fleet will be berthed in Liverpool from 18 to 21 July. The large Class A Tall Ships will be berthed in Wellington and Sandon Half Tide Docks. The class B, C, and D vessels will be berthed in Albert, Canning and Canning Half Term Dock. Mersey Ferries will be operating our River Explorer Cruises on the 18, 19 & 20 with enhanced services on the 19 & 20 (departures available every 30 minutes) approximately). On Monday 21, there will be no ferry service between 1pm and 3.30pm due to the parade of sail. However, River Explorer Cruises will be operating before 1pm and after 3.30pm.

Pre-bookable hourly cruises to view the QE2 for the very last time before she heads off to Dubai to become a luxury hotel. Boarding and disembarking will be at Seacombe ONLY. A live commentary will provide fascinating facts about this magnificent vessel on her last ever visit to Liverpool. Cruises depart hourly from 11.00am and will last 45 minutes. Last cruise will be at 4.00pm.
Tickets are £10.00 for adults and £5.00 for children (3-15 years). Advance booking necessary for a specific departure, subject to availability.
Please note that the scheduled River Explorer Cruises will also be operating from Pier Head, Seacombe & Woodside. These cruises will sail as close as possible to the QE2. Normal prices will apply and these cruises are not pre-bookable.
Follow this majestic vessel out of the river as she leaves Liverpool for the very last time. The cruise departs Seacombe at 6.45pm and Liverpool at 7.00pm. Please allow plenty of time for car parking. The QE2 is scheduled to leave her berth at 8.00pm.
