At Mersey Ferries, we aim to ensure that access to the ferry is easy for all visitors regardless of any disability and we are committed to continually improving access for all visitors.

The following facilities are now in place at Mersey Ferries:

On our vessels

  • Main decks are fully accessible, including wheelchair access
  • Accessible toilet facilities are available on the main deck
  • Food/drink cafe is located on the main deck

At our ferry terminals

  • All Mersey Ferries terminals are accessible for wheelchair users
  • Please note that the link span bridge, which connects the ferry terminal to the landing stage, can be quite steep, especially at low tide (times for low tide). 
  • Accessible toilets are available at all ferry terminals
  • There is no car parking available directly at Liverpool Gerry Marsden Ferry Terminal in Liverpool. Free car parking is available at Seacombe Terminal for direct cross-river (Commuter) Season Ticket holders within the designated season ticket holder car park.
  • Commuters who pay for flexi tickets, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly passes can park for free at Seacombe Terminal. Please speak to a Mersey Ferries staff member to receive a parking pass.


  • Mersey Ferries information is available in alternative formats on request
  • River Explorer Cruise fact sheets available at terminals, which is an alternative to the recorded commentary played during the cruise.
  • Woodside Ferry Terminal, Birkenhead is currently closed for refurbishment.
