A DAZZLING DAY OUT IN A WORLD-CLASS CITY
As part of the Pirate Festival taking place at Albert Dock on Saturday 10th September, the following River Explorer Cruises will be pirate themed – 12 noon, 1pm, 2pm , 3pm, 4pm & 5pm.
The normal sightseeing recorded commentary will not play on these cruises.
Merseytravel pre-paid tickets and concessionary passes will not be valid on these cruises.
See Liverpool’s most iconic sights aboard the world-famous Mersey Ferry. Our 50 minute River Explorer Cruise takes in the best views along the riverside.
Now you can add some dazzle to your journey too – our ferry ‘Snowdrop’ is the country’s only operating Dazzle Ferry. The project commissioned by Liverpool Biennial, 14-18 NOW and Tate Liverpool, has been designed by famous pop-artist Sir Peter Blake in commemoration of World War One. This was when dazzle camouflage was first introduced as a way to confuse the enemy to a vessels speed and direction making it more difficult to target. There’s an on-board exhibition on the Dazzle Ferry too explaining more about the role Mersey Ferries played in WW1 and the history of dazzle ships. To check when you can take a River Explorer Cruise on the Dazzle Ferry click here (please note when the Dazzle Ferry isn’t sailing, the Mersey Ferry, Royal Iris of the Mersey will be).
River Explorer Cruises depart hourly from our three terminals listed below and a return ticket lets you break your journey at any one of them. They can be combined with a visit to our waterfront attractions (see below) and make a great trip for the whole family. So start planning your visit today!
Our River Explorer Cruise tickets now include free entry to the U-boat Story at Woodside ferry terminal.
